Kayaking is economical and fun for everyone and one of the best ways to independently explore Koh Tao’s beautiful coastline.
Mae Haad is the ideal location from which to explore the inaccessible coast to the south. Jansom Bay, Freedom Beach and Sai Thong Bay and Shark Island are all within a few hours paddle.
For adventurers, circumnavigating the island is also possible in a day. Others may just want to snorkel and explore the rocks just off the coastline at Jansom Bay, or paddle out on the ocean to watch the sun come down.

Koh Tao is one of Thailand’s top snorkelling destinations. The whole island is surrounded by tropical coral reef abundant with diverse marine life. Tropical reef fish, turtles, blue spotted rays and reef sharks are all found amongst the reef and just off the shore.
Many of the island’s top snorkelling sites are accessible from the shore or renting a kayak makes an ideal platform from which to explore the rocky bays and coast. Charter a speedboat to see all of the island’s top spots in one day with the added benefit of a local guide.
